Cassie Smith

Cassie joined Håmsø Patentbyrå in 2025.
Cassie has been working in IP since 2017 and is qualified as both a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney. She is a commercially minded attorney and is experienced in advising clients across the IP lifecycle, from filing strategy and due diligence to contentious post-grant proceedings.
Cassie has particular expertise in protecting software implemented inventions before the EPO and UKIPO, across industries such as medical technology, automotive engineering and consumer electronics.
Prior to joining the IP profession, Cassie conducted research on the application of computational techniques to animal behaviour. She holds a Masters degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Manchester and a Masters degree in Neuroscience from Newcastle University.
