From family company to partner company

11 December, 2019

After almost 70 years at the helm of the Håmsø-family, the company is since the summer of 2019 run by seven employees.

Håmsø Patentbyrå was established in Sandnes in 1950 by Borge Håmsø. For aome years, the company was situated in the private basement living room of the Håmsø family. Borge’s sons, Eivind and Gunnar Håmsø, took over ownership and management of the company in 2003.

Last summer, Eivind and Gunnar Håmsø sold the company to a group of seven employees. The seven partners who have acquired the company are Rasmus Gjesing, Krister Mangersnes, Reidun Rosså Korsberg, Kjell Arne Hoff, Arnfinn Meihack, Steven van Dijk and Richard Weaver. Rasmus is Managing Director and Krister is Chairman of the Board.

The purchase ensures that the company continues to operate with local ownership, something which both the previous and the new owners see as important. The fact that employees who knew the company well bought it confirms that they belive in its future.
